5 — Who am I?

That is a question we all ask ourselves at one time or another. And I would say that I am a Husband, a Father, an Engineer, and now, a Novelist. Here are a few of the details.

Education

Mechanical Engineer (Bachelor Degree) from Stevens institute of Technology in 1962

Master of Science Degree from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 1977

Occupation

Novelist — I started writing in the mid 1990’s.

Formerly a Licensed Professional Engineer, mostly involved in environmental control systems for aircraft, spacecraft, and submarines.

After the USAF, I went to work on the Apollo program at Hamilton Standard.  After a little over twenty-one years with Hamilton, I went to work for the Boeing Company.  I retired from Boeing in 2007, but was asked back.  I worked there until November 2013, at which point I went back to being retired…except for writing novels.

I have two patents.

That’s Enough for Now.

  1. So, are you the same Artie Davenport from East Street School, who used to hang out with me and Johnny Goettlemann?

    George Rand, W3EH (ex K2KTT)

    1. Something happened here that remains unexplained. I wrote a reply and it disappeared. Oh well.

So, YES, I am Arthur K Davenport from our East Street School days. Great to hear from you, George.
Sorry to be so late in replying. I don’t pay enough attention to my website.

      How did you find me?

  2. I also worked for HSD of USC during the Apollo program. I worked on PLSS 6 & 7 as Reliability & System Safety Engineer. OPS also of course. Then on the Air Force spacecraft life support system. There are a few of us still alive. I just watcher the Congressional TV show on the Solar Powered plane where you were introduced.
Later 23 yrs Engineer for NASA GSFC to retirement!
